Is Gold in a bubble? Dunno, but this seems sensational: Marathon Fusion has announced a solution to the millennia-old challenge of alchemy: the transmutation of gold. They claim they can produce gold from fusion reactors: "Our method is massively scalable, pragmatically achievable, and economically irresistible". The Diff looks at the economics (see article below). Will there be a "lab-grown diamonds moment" for gold ?

Goldman Sachs: “Our technical deep dive illustrates the potential for agents to become the new user interface for knowledge workers”. "By 2030, the agent portion of the software market may account for more than 60% of the total. In other words, the profit pool is going to shift to agents, but the entire market for software will be larger".

Is AI driving all human-made content and/or knowledge creation behind paywalls? Stefan Waldhausers (his content is excellent) is thinking about future-proofing his work (see article below). If you read this article, combine it with the Stratechery article below, it´s even deeper on the same topic. My 0.02 cents: Our (free) newsletter centers around curation / selection. We read alot of crap, so that you don´t. Will AI agents be able to replicate "taste" and "relevance for an audience"? Time will tell. One thing is sure: if all the good stuff moves behind paywalls, this newsletter will also be obsolete.

Ben Thompson thinks that "what happens to content is a harbinger for what will happen to industries of all types". He examines how content could be consumed and monetized in the age of AI. Cloudflare is beta-testing a model called "pay-per-crawl" which actually looks interesting (see article below)

Hims centers on a good idea: Healthcare is too expensive and has an abysmal user experience. But what Hims and its founder Andre Dudum do to change this, looks like a "blueprint of modern American capitalism": a company build on DTC-marketing, celebrity endorsement, listed via SPAC, operating in grey areas of regulation, sucking-up to MAGA to exploit these areas for profit, fake doctors, memes and social media following as core asset, retail army as key investors, insider selling, big companies that actually create value (Big Pharma R&D) victimized by the "Disruptor / David vs Goliath" (not creating value, only distribution), all for the benefit of a founder / "musk-like memelord", spinning the story, creating the narrative.

Few realize that this week´s WSJ headline is a "truism".

"When I was growing up, if you'd have put me up against a wall with the other kids from my street and asked me which one of us was gonna make it to the age of 60, with five kids and four grandkids and houses in Buckinghamshire and California, I wouldn't have put money on me, no fucking way,"
